Sulfur: How I Use it to Treat Acne
While I was out exploring the mall I happened upon a product that I would like to share with you, well it is actually an active ingredient found in many products. It is called sulfur; you may have heard of it most notable quality, its bad smell. But that is not all it does, it is actually a very good product for the treatment of acne.
Most people have heard at least something about sulfur in their lifetime, usually that it stinks. But, you may be surprised to learn that this is not all that sulfur has to offer, in fact it has a lot more; it is a highly effective acne treatment for some.
While other products take two different treatments to remove dead skin, unclog pores, and kill bacteria sulfur is able to do it all in one step.
The first thing you will want to do is use a facial scrub that contains sulfur as the active ingredient. The purpose of a scrub is to remove the outer layer of dead skin, which exposes the skins pores and readies them for the next step.
After the pores are exposed you can rinse your face with warm water, this will flush out built-up dirt and oil which love to harbor bacteria, which is the focus of our next step.
Now that your outer layer of dead skin has been removed and the dirt and oil has been flushed from your pores the sulfur can do its most important job; kill acne causing bacteria. This is its most important job because a bacterium is the root cause of acne.
The next product that I recommend is called a non-soap facial cleanser. I recommend using this to wash your face every day because it will not dry your face out too much like regular soap. It is better to use this on a daily basis then the scrub because it does not have the abrasive action, which will irritate your skin if used every day.
While I use all of these products and I recommend them to everyone that I come into contact with, I am not a professional. For this reason, you should consult your dermatologist before beginning any of these treatments.
