Everyone worries about beating the anti aging battle. Among the most frustrating, is having to deal with puffy eye issues. Puffy eyes can just about make you crazy, hiding from early morning conversations and inevitably lowering your self-esteem.

In order to avoid going into hiding, before the look of your puffy eye issues worsen, it is beneficial to look for an eye wrinkle cream or even some sort of surgical procedure depending on how badly the puffiness bothers you.

Ladue News, a local news article, gave some insight as to what exactly the underlying issues are that cause puffy eye problems. One facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Nayak of the Skin Enhancement Center, explains puffy eye issues have to deal with several changes that occur together. The under eye bags are composed of fat that actually bulges forward as the eyelid weakens with age. In addition, as we age the skin becomes thin, wrinkles and collects excess pigment which contributes to the baggy, shadowed appearance.

To get rid of the puffiness, you can start with finding an eye wrinkle cream. Eye wrinkle cream can temporarily improve the appearance of bags under eyes because they hydrate, plump skin, reduce eye wrinkles and build collagen.

If you are one of the many women or men who have obtained their puffy eye problems due to heredity, it may be that you want to look into a long-lasting and more beneficial option like cosmetic surgery.

The most common surgical procedure the news article speaks of is eyelid surgery to correct puffy eye issues. It can involve the upper and lower eyelid. With lower eyelid surgery, an incision is made below the lash line and excess skin and fat are removed. It can be done with local or general anesthesia. Another surgery, Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty, involves an incision made on the inside of the eyelid and the fat is then removed. The greatest benefit with this surgery is that you can avoid a noticeable scar.

Another more new surgery this article explains, uses an erbium laser that destroys damaged skin cells and leaves the rest of the skin to build up more collagen, thus thickening. This treatment uses local anesthesia and a permanent change to the skin. Thus this type of laser is becoming more and more popular. I’m sure you’ve heard of dermal fillers as they are always an option. The benefit with dermal filler is that they can be put in very quickly and is minimally invasive. The drawback is that they need to be replaced within a year.

A certain level of risk is associated with any surgical procedure. The rule of thumb should be that before a surgical treatment option is chosen, the benefits are weighed against the risks. The more severe your puffy eye problem, the more beneficial the result of surgery will be. Not only will you look better, your self-confidence will rise, strengthening the interactions you have with others.
