Dysport - The New Kid on the Block… Leading the Way to a to Becoming Wrinkle Free!
Dysport is a new anti-wrinkle treatment that is similar to Botox, but is cheaper and is more effective for larger areas, and requires fewer injections for similar effects to Botox. They both have the same active ingredient, so they are similar in that respect and in the injection method of delivery, but the new anti-wrinkle treatment, Dysport was just approved by the FDA in April of this past year.

The reason for this is that the antibodies don’t seem to attack Dysport, the way they do Botox, and Dysport spreads further into surrounding tissues. A word of caution is that you don’t want it to spread into areas where you do not want the relaxing of the underlying muscles to prevent contractions.
To understand how both of these treatments work, you need to understand what causes the deep wrinkles and frown lines. As you age, and your face makes repetitive expressions, the muscles contract and the wrinkles form from the repetitive motions where the muscles crease. The breakdown of the collagen and elastin that hold the skin tight over those muscles causes skin to become saggy, and the surface layer of skin fails to hold moisture like it did when you were younger.
Dysport and Botox relax the deep, underlying muscles of the skin, and the relaxed or paralyzed muscle lies flat, and so do the surface skin layers above it. The injections add a plumpness that lasts until the antibodies start attacking and “killing” off the bacteria or toxin that is used in the injection formula. Once this happens, the facial muscles start contracting gradually until the frown lines or deep wrinkles reappear, or you get another treatment, whichever comes first.
The impossible pricing of Botox and other cosmetic treatment procedures made Dysport a welcome alternative to those who wanted to look good but does not have the insane amount of money to do so. As its way of making anti-aging treatments affordable, Dysport has successfully won the confidence of the consumers by offering reasonably priced anti-wrinkle solutions.
Of course, most patients also decide to mix other treatments such as microdermabrasion and collagen treatments to boost the skin’s ability to maintain elasticity and retain moisture to eliminate surface wrinkles, sagging and crow’s feet. But for the deep surface wrinkles and frown lines, the new anti-wrinkle treatment, Dysport offers some clear advantages over other treatments, including Botox.
