Drug Stores Offering The Latest Technology In Anti-aging Products
Department stores have long offered creams and lotions to women seeking to rid themselves of their crowas feet and smile lines, and willing to pay hundreds of dollars in the process. $500 was not considered too high a price for a small package, provided it offered bona fide anti-aging results. Women who have spent large sums on high-end moisturizers and anti-aging creams will be happy to know that they no longer have to. They can now purchase some of the best products on the market at their local drug store.
For many women, suggesting that they purchase their wrinkle creams and moisturizers from a drug store would garner some skeptical looks. This, however, would be a mistake. Never before have so many quality face creams been available to such a widespread market at such a reasonable price. The future of the luxury beauty market is changing, and this is just the beginning.
Look in beauty and fashion magazines and see which beauty creams are being touted as the anext big thing.a Most times you will see a drug store brand as the top reviewed product. The reason for this does not lie strictly with the large advertising budget available to these manufactures. Their product IS getting better.
The reasons for the continuing improvement of these drug store products are widespread availability and standing market shares. The drug store companies have a much larger budget for research and development than the department stores and are coming up with new and better products much quicker than their higher priced competitors.
Because of their advanced research and development, drug store brands are on the cutting edge of the anti-aging technology. They can offer their products without a large marketing outlay because they are already a known brand. Department stores have to advertise their new products heavily, and their costs in development and advertising are passed on to the customer in the form of higher prices iia as much as three or four times higher than the drug stores.
As more and more money is poured into anti aging products for our aging population, the drug store skin cream market will continue to grow, forcing the department store brands to rethink their marketing approaches. This competition and advancement will serve the customer as better, and more affordable products become increasingly available.
A similar trend can be seen in drug store brand cosmetics. In the past it was the department store brands that had the newest colors and application technologies. It would take 6 months to a year for those trends to show up in the drug stores. Now the opposite is true. The latest trend of mineral makeup and rubber mascara brushes appeared in drug stores long before making the jump to department store brands (although in the case of mineral makeup we first saw this available through TV sales!)
The final word on the future of skin creams is yet to be said, but the trend towards more affordable and readily available wrinkle creams does not seem to be slowing down. In fact, in our slowing economy the trend has nowhere to go but up. This is great news for the practical woman looking for a way to slow down Mother Nature and still keep some of her hard earned money!
