Acne: What are your options?
As many of you already know, caring for, and particularly cleaning your skin can be a full time job. Because acne tends to affect you at the worst possible moment, like just before a job interview, or a first date, it can be equally frustrating.
In this short article, I will try to help you gain the understanding of not only what causes your acne in the first place, but more importantly how best to treat it, and prevent it from happening again. There are many treatment options available; here I will focus on just a few.
The most common and easiest to use acne treatment is topical creams, lotions, and ointments. These can come in the form of scrubs that are used to clean the oil and dirt from your skin, or they can be in the form of a cream that dries up the excess oil in the skin.
Because acne outbreaks are caused by first, the fact that the skins pores become clogged with dirt, and second the over production of naturally occurring oils, caused by the over stimulation of glands. Last, bacteria finds its way into the clogged pores, and sets up shop within the oils, and from there millions of additional bacteria are produced.
Acne is caused by three distinct things, which are actually quite easy to treat once you understand them. First, there is the actual dirt, grim, dead skin and whatever else that clogs the skins pores. This combined with the overproduction of oils due to overactive glands, combined with bacteria, which love to live in these vary conditions, produces acne. So now that you know what causes you anguish, I would guess that you want to get rid of it, right? Right. So, here we go, first you will need to clean up your skin. This can be done with a number of treatments, but the most common is probably topical scrubs. You can generally find these at your local grocery store, or nutrition store if you prefer natural products. Also, you may want to consider homeopathic treatments, since many people claim to get great results from these.
Of the different types of natural treatments for acne, the most popular are probably foods, believe it or not. These can include various fruits such as oranges and grapes, and it can also be in the form of vegetables such as cantaloupe, or cucumbers. These various fruits and vegetables all have natural juices, which can be applied to the skin directly, although, it is recommended that you consult a professional before using these yourself, as you may be allergic to one or all of them.
And, as most women already know, you can blend these foods and mix them into a paste which can be applied to the face directly to serve as a facial mask. This can do two important things for your skin. First, it can exfoliate the skin. Next, the acids within the fruits can help to dry the excess oil up, which can help to prevent further outbreaks.
This really cannot be stressed enough, especially considering that our bodies are made up of over seventy percent water. But, before starting any treatment, or exercise regimen, you should always consult a doctor.
