2 Foods That Help Improve Skin Elasticity In Aging Skin

There are foods to eat that can help improve your skin elasticity as you age and help improve your skin health.

Unfortunately though improving aging skin and preventing loss of skin elasticity isn’t as easy as simply eating a couple of foods.

Theres no doubt at all that what you eat directly affects the condition of your skin and how well it ages. Eating a good diet rich in anti oxidants and vitamins and minerals is essential to optimum skin health and the look and feel of your skin.

You need to follow all the advice that you read everywhere about eating to stay healthy. Lower intake of fats, particularly animal fats, higher intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and lower intake of salt and sugar. What is good for our body generally is good for our skin. No doubt.

But there are no miracle foods that you can eat and which will directly impact on improving your skin health. For those looking for a food that is a magic bullet to improving skin elasticity the sad news is that there is no simple food that you can eat that will improve skin elasticity. But there are some foods that help improve skin elasticity in aging skin.

Here’s 2 of them.

1. One of the good fats that help improve your skin health is omega 3. Youve probably heard of omega 3, its a fatty acid found in, amongst other places, oily fish. Its good for your heart, its good for your health generally and it is also very good for your skin.

A diet high in omega 3 fats is well worth it, for your overall health as well as your skin health. However it is quite difficult to ensure adequate levels of omega 3 in your diet unless you regularly eat large quantities of oily fish. In some cultures this happens all the time. But in ours the right types of fish isn’t a huge part of our diet, and is very expensive.

2. Next comes phytessence wakame, a seaweed. You can eat it, although it may not sound quite as appetizing as it could. But the Japanese have eaten phytessence wakame for centuries, dried and fresh, and it is a big part of the Japanese diet.

And Japanese women have wonderful skin right into old age, and science has traced this to the ingredients in the phytessence wakame that they eat.

So there’s no doubt that eating a generally healthy diet is very good for your skin right through life, but actually finding specific foods that help improve skin health and things like skin elasticity isn’t easy.

And sometimes, although the ingredients of some foods are good for your skin, they can be better applied topically, or direct to your skin, rather than eaten.
